One of the
specialties of the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital is our ability to
integrate the medical, psychiatric and social components of care in
a comprehensive approach. The physical well-being of a psychiatric
patient is critical to emotional health and rehabilitation.
Medical-Behavioral
Inpatient Unit
This unit serve the patient who is both medically and behaviorally
compromised. The unit operate under a co-attending model where
medicine and psychiatry work closely in developing appropriate
treatment plans with a multi-disciplinary team approach. A full range of
medical and surgical services is complemented by a structured
behavioral milieu. This unique program gives us the ability to treat
a multiply- diagnosed, and traditionally inadequately served group.
